Alpine Lakes Elementary, Leavenworth, WA

A relatively small mural for a new, public elementary school in Leavenworth, Washington, this project was a fun challenge beginning to end. I had to paint on plywood panels in Arizona in October when temperatures were 100º (and more), then figure out a way to ship the 4 sheets of plywood and their mounting frame over 1000 miles north to Washington. Next, I had to get myself to Washington to install the piece. The mural went on a truck by freight, I flew coach, then rented a car while my tools shipped in a box. Leavenworth was covered in snow and 20º most of the time I was there to hang the mural. A very special, memorable trip. Oh, and I had the best meal of my life with my 8 yr old son in Seattle - Kashiba Sushi.
