Lucca, Italy, Guinigi Tower

$125.00

Lucca, Italy, is one of many charming, small cities in Italy, but is my favorite of them all (or, at least of all the places I’ve been). Within the walls of this ancient city, you’ll find many towers reaching up above the red tile roofs. Each tower, a centuries old attempt at “one-upping,” the neighbors, is unique and in some way tries to out-do all the others. For me, the Guinigi Tower wins . . . not only is it beautiful, it is over 700 years old, a bit taller than the others, and, just for good measure, they planted oak trees on the top to allow it’s height to continue to “grow” and ensure it remains the “tallest” in Lucca.

Limited edition of 60, seven color, hand printed silkscreen
