If there is one thing Arizona has going for it, it is definitely the spectacular sunsets. This print attempts to capture the dramatic colors we see almost year round in the desert as the sun sets each day. In the sky, I blended 5 colors to try and replicate what nature does with ease. Every print is slightly different as the inks blend and swirl with each squeegee pass, so literally no print is the same as the next-just like each sunset is different from day to day.

This print utilizes a “split fountain” technique to create the sunset effect, which means I print 5 inks simultaneously, allowing them to blend and flow together to mimic the look of the Arizona sky at sunset. On account of the ink blending as I print, every print is different than the next, even though the art is the “same.”
