A silkscreen print is a hand printed work of art. As with all printmaking, each print takes time, care & skill to produce. It will have individual variations, marks, imperfections and character lines and carries the touch of the artists’ hand. These will occur naturally through the printmaking process, as each print is an individual and original work of art. Part of the process includes hand mixing each ink, testing color, making sure each color aligns with the previous color and so on. When I print a limited edition of 100 , I will print 120 sheets to accommodate mistakes, misaligned prints or any number of things that can go wrong along the way - but I save them all. Some of those “imperfect,” prints are my favorites and for the first time, I’m making them available.
